Good food & good music

Image
I dont think there are many more things that are better than good food & good music. I truly believe that food & music can often play a role in putting someone in a great mood or a foul mood. For instance, I know that when I hear a song that I use to listen to when I was a kid, it just brings me back to that exact moment and often times I cant help but get the silliest grin on my face. Anyway, this brunch date with Cinthia on an extremely cold, spring day (not bitter) did just that. It transported me back to New Orleans where I was stuffing my piehole with delicious foods while listening to live jazz music. And what a great time we had! Live jazz, bottomless mimosas, the cheesiest mac and cheese, lightly toasted cornbread, fried green tomatoes, NOLA shrimp and warm beignets. We felt like we ordered it all but truthfully, we hardly touched the surface of the menu. This wasnt our first time at The Bayou but it was just as enjoyable as the first time. I feel like we w...

Spring made an appearance!

Guys, we finally got spring like weather (80s!!!) and we made sure to take advantage of it. Good thing too because we are back in the 40s & 50s this week. Not nice spring, not nice. We first enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the deck and then went to the gym for a workout. We had big plans to work on our front and back yards after the gym as Mr. Sean did not rake up the leaves last fall. Since it was going to be such a nice day, I decided that I'd help him, ha. I know how that sounds but I love informing everyone that Im responsible for the inside cleaning & hes responsible for the outside cleaning, also known as, raking, mowing, shoveling, etc. Anyway, regardless of how much work it was, it was actually very enjoyable & I believe our workouts earlier in the day helped to give us the energy we needed to work several hours in the front and back yards. But let's be honest, with the weather being so nice it made me want to be outside all day. The dogs were lovin...

Philly Rabbit Run + some fun

Image
When Sean and I sat down to talk about our goals for 2018 earlier this year, fitness and health was at the top. So, when Sean found the Philly Rabbit Run that was taking place late March, in Philadelphia, he suggested we do it. And because it was still so early in the year, I was all ears. Granted, I didnt think that I would actually be able to do it but it sounded like a good idea. Additionally, Sean's best friend's mom has Parkinson's (which is what the run was for) so it made even more sense for us to do it. When I was healthier (no leg issues) I did not run any 5Ks so it seemed a little overzealous that with my current condition that 1.) I would even be able to do it and 2.) I would actually want to do it. Well, I did it. It was hard, it was intense, my legs were burning but I did it and Ive never felt so proud and accomplished. It was exhilarating and although my time was not amazing it was under 45 minutes which is what I wanted. I actually was aiming for 50 mi...
