Spring made an appearance!

Image
Guys, we finally got spring like weather (80s!!!) and we made sure to take advantage of it. Good thing too because we are back in the 40s & 50s this week. Not nice spring, not nice. We first enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the deck and then went to the gym for a workout. We had big plans to work on our front and back yards after the gym as Mr. Sean did not rake up the leaves last fall. Since it was going to be such a nice day, I decided that I'd help him, ha. I know how that sounds but I love informing everyone that Im responsible for the inside cleaning & hes responsible for the outside cleaning, also known as, raking, mowing, shoveling, etc. Anyway, regardless of how much work it was, it was actually very enjoyable & I believe our workouts earlier in the day helped to give us the energy we needed to work several hours in the front and back yards. But let's be honest, with the weather being so nice it made me want to be outside all day. The dogs were lovin...

Sunday Dinner

Image
On Sundays, Sean leaves home by 3pm to head to work but this Sunday he had the entire day off. What topped it off was that it was Easter Sunday which is incredibly special on its own. HE IS RISEN! When we realized that Sean had Easter Sunday off we picked up a turkey and decided that wed make a special dinner which to be honest closely resembles our Thanksgiving dinner. Sean peeled the potatoes and cut the vegetables whist I cooked up quite the storm. My kitchen was squeaky clean when I started cooking and its amazing how much of a disaster it looked like afterwards. I do not like going to bed with dishes in the sink but I made an exception that evening as our dishwasher just could not fit it all. It'll be running mad for a few days. We ended our Sunday dinner with dessert (cookies and cream ice cream, yum!) and began a new show on Netflix. I hope you had a wonderful Easter with the ones you love! ♥

Sunday dinner

As I mentioned in a previous post, for the month of January we are doing a spending freeze on unnecessary purchases. Upon deciding this we also agreed that date nights at restaurants for the month of January would also be eliminated. We even went a step further and also decided that we wouldnt drink any alcohol for the month of January to help assist with our no spend January. Its not difficult to notice that a bottle of wine here and there does eventually add up but if Im to be honest, I dont think this is something wed continue during our no spend months because theres nothing like a nice glass of wine on the weekends. Sunday dinners for the month of January have felt like date nights and it has actually been really nice. Granted we dont go the extra step by dressing up for dinner but to be honest, whats better than being able to eat a delicious home cooked meal while dressed in your favorite, old and rather ratty tee-shirt? Not much, right? This particular Sunday dinner ...

At home for Christmas

Image
Decorating for Christmas is one of my most favorite things to do. I do always tend to have issue with re-arranging things since the tree takes up a good portion of the space in our sitting room. This year, instead of putting the yellow chairs away (that usually go where the tree goes) I placed them in front of our window. Although, I much prefer them in their usual designated area, it is convenient to have additional seating when friends or family are over. Not related to this topic but of course I feel the need to mention, our palm tree had to find a new home away from the window because winter, and well, it thrived so much better by the window. Crossing fingers that it makes it though the winter and can go back to its beloved spot. This year we chose purple ornaments as a sort of tribute to my mom and every time I see it I cant help but smile. Ive been insane with the watching of Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music this year. It truly has helped to put me in a ...

First snowfall

Image
Every winter I dread the arrival of snow. I don't like driving in it, I don't like when it turns brown and mushy, I don't like how easily you (or maybe how I) slip and fall and I really don't like cleaning it off my car. What do I like about snow? Snow covered trees! They are just so magical to me. And although I do not love snow, I tend to like the first snowfall of the season. I love seeing it covered on the roofs of homes, on the grass and most of all, on the trees. Like most people last weekend, I couldn't help but to snap some pictures because the first snowfall is always a big deal even if you're like me and don't really care for snow. I hope you all had wonderful weekends and have great weeks! ♥
