Sunny winter brunch

Image
Although it was so cold this particular day it was also very sunny. And as much as I would have liked to stay in my house all day that day, I made brunch plans with Cinthia a month prior. Since the restaurant is closer to my house, Cinthia drove to my house, parked her car in my driveway and then I drove us to 3rd and Ferry Fish Market . Once we were sitting in my car with music blaring and driving to the restaurant, any longing for me to be at home went away. Its funny how that happens. Since Cinthia and I dont work together anymore, when we get together these days we have so much catching up to do. Cinthias brother and his family moved from Puerto Rico to live with her while they get situated, so she has been pretty busy getting them settled. Basically we had a lot to talk about and I dont think we stopped talking the entire time. OK, I lie we did have to stop every so often to stuff our pie holes with crab bisque, ceviche, crab topped fries and fried calamari as well. ...

Lunch at The Shelby

I love having go-to restaurants but I also enjoy trying new restaurants; as Im always hoping to add a new favorite to the ever-growing list. When I checked out The Shelby for the first time several months ago, I knew that I had to go back again with my camera to take proper pictures as I found this place to be so striking. What better place to share than on here? When I got the chance to visit again, I made sure to bring my camera along. Cinthia and Sean havent had the opportunity to try this place yet so I know another visit is in my near future and I already cant wait. How funny is it that gorgeous restaurants (and good food) get me this excited? Their cheese curds are amazing. Although, they tasted a little different from the first time I tried them, still so good! Their drink list is also so extensive and Im looking forward to trying more things on their food and drink menu.

Goodbye to summer.

This summer was a really great one. I was able to spend a lot of time with friends and family. There have been several favorite moments of this summer that I did not get a chance to share here. Summer tends to get busy so being behind my computer is usually the last thing I want to do, but I still want these small happenings to be documented here. Sean and I traveled to upstate NY for Luke and Danielles summer barbeque. I did not take any pictures but we had such a good time! If you can remember we visited them in the spring and they are finally back in their house and are so happy to be home. The following day, Colleen threw a brunch for a Pampered Chef party and I ended up buying way too many things. But if there is anything I know Ill use, its kitchen stuff. Heres a few pictures I took at Colleen's brunch. I did so poorly taking pictures that weekend. I guess, I was too busy catching up ... Seriously, the best cheeses ever. Sean and I went to our local fair and h...

Summer Bucket List: Try a new restaurant

Image
I cannot believe that summer is almost over. It went by so quickly! I know it happens every year but now when I head out for work in the morning (6:30am) it isn't as bright outside; and it's making me wish for summer to start all over again. I'm going to savor these last few weeks of summer; dining al fresco, grilling, spending evenings on our deck drinking chilled wine and maybe get in one last beach day. Basically doing all the things I'm going to miss once these temperatures go down. OK, moving on. Part of our summer bucket list was to try a new restaurant. We had this restaurant marked for over six months and so when we finally had the chance to visit you can say we were pretty excited. Unfortunately, for us, it was a big letdown. Our food was just not good. I was so excited for my mac n cheese but it was soooo bland. Cinthias egg dish sounded like it was going to be incredible based on the description on the menu but it was basically just eggs soaked in t...
