Tidbits about my mom ?

Image
I have this irrational fear that as the more time passes, Ill begin to forget things my mom did, said, her gestures and how big her smile was. If it werent for saved voicemails, I believe Id forgotten her soft but firm voice. It has become a bit of a ritual that every night before bed, I lay in bed and try to remember little things about my mom to keep her fresh and alive in my mind. Whenever my mom called me, shed ask me, How is my boy? The boy she was referring to was Sean. Whenever I would ask my mom, Whats up? she would reply, The sky. My mom was such a great listener that when we spoke on the phone, I often thought that our call had dropped because she was so quiet. And when I would ask, Hey mom, you there? she would reply, Im here, just listening. It wasnt that she was quiet, it was that she was intently listening to everything you had to say. When I would gain weight, my mom would say, Youve been eating the junks. And it always was with an s on purpose ...

Sean's mom ?

Seans mom had a heart attack two months ago. It took a while to write about because it was such a scary experience. This might sound selfish but Seans mom is so good to me and the thought of not having any moms in our lives was enough to make me feel really sorry for us. Theres nothing like a mom. She had to have a quadruple bypass surgery and spent two weeks in the hospital but she is back home and recuperating. Slowly but surely. She even asked if she could watch our fur-babies while we're in San Francisco so that's a big sign that she's getting and feeling better. Seans mom has been through so much health wise. She had stage 4 colon cancer and beat it, has muscular dystrophy and now just had a heart attack. She keeps fighting and pushing through and I hope that we have her for many more years because to be honest, Sean is such a mamas boy. Im not just saying this, he truly is. He calls his mom about five times a day (sometimes more!) and often he doesnt even...

My niece's birthday pawty at Billy Beez

Image
A few weekends ago, we celebrated my niece turning five years old. She loves dogs so it was no surprise that she asked for a puppy party at Billy Beez . Although, the party was held at Billy Beez my sister still made sure to add some personal touches to make my nieces party special. She could have easily allowed the facility to do it all but thats not how my sister rolls, ha. So, she took care of the cake, the cupcakes and a few other touches to make my nieces birthday pawty (get it?) a hit. Since Im all about adopting fur babies, I loved that my sister bought a bunch of stuffed dog animals and had each kid adopt one. Loved, loved that! The kids loved it too and even proceeded to name their newly adopted stuffed dogs. Billy Beez is huge and you have to keep a really watchful eye but I like that they take security very seriously and you cant just walk out with a child that you did not come in with. There are so many fun activities for the kiddos and I personally liked it...

Happy Birthday to my lovely niece.

It feels like she was just born but I announced her birth five years ago. How does time fly this quickly? It moves even quicker when you get to see someone grow before your eyes. This blog often talks about my family and Im grateful for that because I can really see her growth in the last five years. This girl right here is so confident, kind, hilarious and so smart. She loves to dance (and is quite great at it, I must add) and truly has such grace which isnt surprising considering its her middle name. She calls me when Im at work to discuss things on her mind and it makes me laugh every time. I love how she is willing to play dress up at any time but will also ask me if I want to climb trees with her. Unfortunately for her, my answer to that question is always no. Maybe one day Ill be cool enough to reply with a yes. Anyway, I feel the need to take a stroll down memory lane today to celebrate my precious niece. Happy birthday Noa Grace. I love you so much and wish y...
