I love today.

11 years ago, I called Sean at 1:43 am to wish him a happy birthday. The time holds some significance as it was the time that Sean was born. We ended up talking for over two hours and when we finally hung up the phone we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. To this day, Im not exactly sure how that part of the conversation went but Sean is convinced that I asked him to be my man. Id like to think that Im the type of person who would do that so Ive never disputed the claim. Its crazy to think that this is our 11th year together. That its his 11th birthday that were celebrating and that 11 years ago I made him a list of reasons I thought he was ballin and placed it on pretty cardboard paper. Should I be embarrassed to share that his long eyelashes made the list? I was incredibly dorky. OK, who am I kidding? I still am. Alright, moving on ... I actually cant believe that Im old enough to be in a relationship with someone for 11 years because many times I feel like I...

Celebrating 8 years ?

Last month, Sean and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. We decided to check out a new to us winery and we both agreed that it was nice to try a new winery ( Mountain View Vineyard ). It was great that we both could see ourselves making many trips back especially when the weather warms up again. I was also surprised to find that it was the same distance as my favorite winery which I post about often on this blog. The views were beautiful even on a rather grey day and they had a large patio area which I can't wait to get use of come spring and summer. We did a wine tasting first to figure out our favorites and then purchased several bottles. We purchased one to enjoy at the winery and then a few more for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. We also ordered a few small plates to eat and I love that they actually had a real menu to order food versus just appetizers. Our food was tasty too! After the winery we went home and napped for a couple of hours and then got ready...

Happy 8th Anniversary, babe.

Happy Birthday Dear Husband.

Today is this guy's birthday. It's crazy to me that this is my 10th year celebrating his birthday. How quickly does time fly. 10 years ago, I called him at 1:43am (he had told me that was the time he was born) to wish him a happy birthday. We ended that phone call officially boyfriend and girlfriend. He says that I asked him and to be honest I can't remember. But if he says, I did, then I did. It's funny to think that I could not stand him in college and then a few years later I was asking him to be my boyfriend. We had a crazy snowstorm in 2007. Everyone was advised to stay indoors but Sean could not be bothered with such rules. He drove in crazy winter conditions that way we could spend that day together. I remember that I was not sure what to get him for his birthday. I didn't want to make a big deal of it since we weren't together long but I wanted to do something. We were obsessed with Jim Jones' "We Fly High, Ballin" so I came up wit...

Anniversary day trip.

This post is way overdue but I told myself that as long as it was posted the month of our anniversary, all was good. Well, look at that; I made it. Barely. We had completely different plans to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary but when Sean learned the news that one of his college friends had passed away we quickly scratched our plans and chose to say our final goodbyes. Sean and I went to college together so when he showed me a picture of his friend I gasped because I remembered him. Sean had done a few reunions with him over the years but I always sat them out because I'm a strong believer that we all need one on one time with our own friends. His friend was one year ahead of me and I could clearly picture him around campus because he was one of those guys. The good looking guy who was so sure of himself, even at 20. I was so sad to see that at 35 he was gone but impressed with everything he had accomplished in his short years. I know, I know, this is suppose to be a ha...
