Philly Rabbit Run + some fun

When Sean and I sat down to talk about our goals for 2018 earlier this year, fitness and health was at the top. So, when Sean found the Philly Rabbit Run that was taking place late March, in Philadelphia, he suggested we do it. And because it was still so early in the year, I was all ears. Granted, I didnt think that I would actually be able to do it but it sounded like a good idea. Additionally, Sean's best friend's mom has Parkinson's (which is what the run was for) so it made even more sense for us to do it.
When I was healthier (no leg issues) I did not run any 5Ks so it seemed a little overzealous that with my current condition that 1.) I would even be able to do it and 2.) I would actually want to do it.
Well, I did it. It was hard, it was intense, my legs were burning but I did it and Ive never felt so proud and accomplished. It was exhilarating and although my time was not amazing it was under 45 minutes which is what I wanted. I actually was aiming for 50 minutes so coming in under 45 minutes was exciting. I also really loved how we encouraged each other throughout the run. We both want to do a few more 5Ks this year so we have to do a little more training that way we can get better time next round.
While we ran it was ridiculously cold and windy so we surprisingly didnt even break a sweat. We were completely expecting to be sweaty messes afterwards. It was funny that within minutes of us being done with the run, it got so much warmer and ended up being such a nice day. No one began or ended the run hungry as there was a ton of food to eat. It was also great to listen to all those around us who were doing what they could to fight this disease.
Two Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders were there taking pictures and signing autographs so I was excited to get a picture although Sean couldn't be bother to ensure that it wasn't blurry! ;)
After the run we went down to South Side & walked around. With just a little tease of warmer weather people were eating outside and walking about. We stopped at Ishakibbles for lunch & both agreed that Jimmy Gs cheesesteaks are better. We also got a drink to share at Fat Tuesdays. We stopped for a few records & loved the store and intend to go back again.
