Summer Bucket List: Try a new restaurant

I cannot believe that summer is almost over. It went by so quickly! I know it happens every year but now when I head out for work in the morning (6:30am) it isn't as bright outside; and it's making me wish for summer to start all over again. I'm going to savor these last few weeks of summer; dining al fresco, grilling, spending evenings on our deck drinking chilled wine and maybe get in one last beach day. Basically doing all the things I'm going to miss once these temperatures go down. OK, moving on. Part of our summer bucket list was to try a new restaurant. New Orleans: Day 1

When we told several people that we would be visiting New Orleans in August everyone said that we chose the worst month to visit as it was the hottest month of the year. Well, they were right. It was hot, humid and rainy and despite that I still loved every moment of our time in New Orleans. When we reached our hotel we were a little disappointed to find that our room was not ready but the front desk called concierge to take our luggage while we waited. If anything, the lobby was such eye candy so I didn't mind waiting and immediately dug my camera out of my bag and began to take pictures. We stayed at Bourbon Orleans Hotel in the French Quarter. When we realized our wait would be more than 15 minutes, we decided to walk outside just to explore for a little while. Self Care

I�ve begun new habits that have really helped to make life seem less hectic. Whether it�s making daily list of small things to do around the house or making all our meals for the week on Sunday , it just helps to keep me feeling balanced and like I�m staying on top of things and on myself. I don't handle being overwhelmed very well, so I try to do anything I can to help alleviate that. I�ve even begun to put simple things on my list like, put on a face mask, to remind myself to take a few minutes to do something good and relaxing for myself. I'm aware that it's silly but I've noticed that if it's on the list, I actually take the time to do it. I find that the more I do simple things I love on a daily basis, the less on edge I feel. Reading a few chapters in a new book, lighting a new candle, memorizing a scripture, watching a romantic girl flick, or just having a small bowl of ice cream.
