Fall harvest in the city

If youve followed me for some time you are most likely aware that every year I get together with my college girlfriends for a girl's weekend. We skipped one year when my mom passed away as I was not in the right state of mind but weve picked back up and the weekends seem to always fall right when I need them. Although, Ive gone and made friends outside of my college girlfriends, theres a piece of my heart that always remain with these four women. When we were in college it was such a carefree time. Our worries were so small and often revolved on what we were going to wear out that night. We were a very close bunch. Time has come & gone and weve had no choice but to grow up as well. Weve been through a lot (together and apart) but we still have that bond and we always, always start right where we left off. It amazes me that between the five of us there are 4 different states that separate us, 5 children, 4 marriages, 1 divorce, several deaths and well, things we neve...

Thankful heart

I come from a household that stressed the importance of a thankful heart. It was drilled in us on how much we had to be thankful for. When my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer I began to feel a shift in so much of who I was, and it became harder to see what I had to be thankful for. After that experience, I would have thought that I would be gone and that there was no going back to who I once was but it was at this time that my thankful heart began to emerge once again. I can't even tell you how thankful I was to b...

Fall vibes.

Image
I love everything fall and it simply might be because October is my birth month. But I do. I love the foliage, fall dcor, cozy clothing, apple cider donuts, heating up the fireplace for the first time in the season and making all the comfort foods. I especially love being wrapped in a huge and soft blanket because of that warm and cozy feeling it brings. I didnt do a great job with decorating for fall this year but I am trying to ensure that I am keeping the fall vibes strong, even if it's just in small and simple ways. This bouquet is seriously one of my most favorite I've done to date, hence all the possible angles. Happy fall y'all. Trying to enjoy it as much as I can because after this weekend, I can seriously feel winter knocking on our doors. I hope you all had wonderful weekends and have amazing weeks! ♥
