Isla Mujeres, Mexico
One of the highlights of this trip was taking the ferry to Isla Mujeres. The day began quite early and when we arrived to purchase our tickets, there were so many people waiting to board as well. It's a rather big boat and we were ones of the first to board the boat so there were no issues finding seats together. I would recommend getting there early as groups who arrived later had issues finding seats together. Another perk of getting there early is the tiki bar right next to where you wait to board the boat. I ordered a delicious strawberry margarita from an awesome bartender while we waited.
It is a short ferry ride to Isla Mujeres from our resort and when we stepped off the boat I felt like I was truly in Mexico. We even discussed that when we go to Mexico again in the future we would be sure to stay here for either the entire trip or several days.
The locals. The colors. The buildings. The scooters. The small shops all lined closely together. I just loved it all.
If I had room in my luggage I would have bought wait too manyunnecessary things.
We had lunch at a restaurant called Fayne and I can rave all day about this restaurant. They have a great selection of Mexican food and it was just so good. I think it was the best Mexican dish of my life. We started with chips and guacamole. I think I've gotten over my distaste for guacamole because I loved it. It's funny because I've always loved avocados but could never like guacamole. I ordered a fish taco and Sean ordered a steak fajita. It took so much of me not to also eat Seans entire meal.
I left Isla Mujeres with a beautiful Mexican blanket. Unfortunately, I have not yet found its perfect spot at home, but I will!
It was a fun day that I hope to do all over again in the future. If you ever have the opportunity to check out this small island, do so!

She loves seashells so it was no surprise that she had to take a bag of them home as her souvenir.

We bought a beautiful Mexican blanket here and they gave us complimentary shots of the below.
Yum!

Lunch at Fayne as I noted above was a great experience.
It also helped that the dcor was serious eye-candy!

After lunch we walked around some more and took in the sights.

Isla Mujeres, I promise to come back ♥
