Happy Birthday Dear Husband.

Image
Today is this guy's birthday. It's crazy to me that this is my 10th year celebrating his birthday. How quickly does time fly. 10 years ago, I called him at 1:43am (he had told me that was the time he was born) to wish him a happy birthday. We ended that phone call officially boyfriend and girlfriend. He says that I asked him and to be honest I can't remember. But if he says, I did, then I did. It's funny to think that I could not stand him in college and then a few years later I was asking him to be my boyfriend. We had a crazy snowstorm in 2007. Everyone was advised to stay indoors but Sean could not be bothered with such rules. He drove in crazy winter conditions that way we could spend that day together. I remember that I was not sure what to get him for his birthday. I didn't want to make a big deal of it since we weren't together long but I wanted to do something. We were obsessed with Jim Jones' "We Fly High, Ballin" so I came up wit...

Hoover Dam.

If youve been a reader of my blog for quite some time you know that Sean and I go to Vegas at least once per year. Although weve been going yearly ever since 2008 we never made it out to Hoover Dam. We decided that we would change that this time around. We went to Vegas with Seans parents (our 3rd time going with them!) and it was great to experience something new and different in a place that we visit often. The drive to the Hoover Dam was spectacular. We oohed and aahed constantly. I attempted taking pictures on our drive over but didnt realize that I got the dashboard in every shot. I apologize for that! So ignore my mistake and take in the view ;). It was truly breathtaking (these pictures do it no justice) & I could not believe it took us nearly nine years to do the short drive over. One really neat thing was being able to be in Nevada and Arizona in seconds! If youre ever in Vegas I recommend doing this at least once. You can choose to pay for a tour or do ...

Someone, please remind me that the next time we go to The Bayou we make sure that we all don't order individual mac and cheese bowls. They're huge! And oh so good. And maybe if we remember this we'll be able to have room to fit their amazing looking beignets! I can name only a few things that are better than stuffing your face with delicious food. I know this is a light post with all that's going on but I seriously can't even put my thoughts together. I've been trying to stay off the internet and social media because it is all too much. If you are noticing a bit of my radio silence (Instagram, Snapchat) it's because I'm distracted with everything else. So here's a post about food because I think that's one thing we can all agree on. We love food! Hope you all have wonderful weekends! ♥

2016 in Review.

I figured that I get this post up today before January is officially over. When I began drafting this post I thought this wasn't going to be a fun year to recap but to be honest it wasnt entirely bad because I survived it. I cried (a lot) but I also laughed. I traveled to new places and created new memories, both good and bad. I loved on my family, friends, fur-babies and my husband. I lived. Heres my recap of 2016; the year that nearly broke me. JANUARY Started off pretty good as I celebrated the soon arrival of my dear friend's daughter. And before I knew it I was spending 12 days in the hospital. I still did manage to keep a smile on my face. FEBRUARY When Sean's birthday rolled around, I was not allowed to drive (or lift over 10 lbs) so I reached out to my girlfriends to see if they had any ideas of what I could do at home for Sean that did not involve me driving or moving about. I was blown away when they took it upon themselves to do this for me. And Sean abs...
