Joy in the Everyday.

Image
Shortly after my mom passed away I was in a slump for quite some time. It was at that time that I told myself to pay attention to the everyday details, big or small, that made me happy. I noticed that whenever I would walk into our sitting room and the sun was shining right though, I couldnt help but to smile. Whenever I would catch myself smiling or feeling happy about something rather small, I would take a picture, to freeze that moment in time. And Ive continued to do it because sometimes I need a reminder of all the things that make me happy when Im feeling down in the dumps. I grab my camera and freeze the moment in time. Here are a few of those moments. Our furbabies love of sunlight. Wherever the sun is that day is where you'll find them. A bright blue sky. Pizza on the weekends. Cheese for me, pepperoni & sausage for Sean. When Sean brought home a pine candle to have our house smell like a real tree resides here. It also showed me his excitement to decorate f...

Scenes from Thanksgiving 2017

I am so behind on blog posts (over one month) and no matter how hard it seems that I try I can't seem to get up to date. Regardless, I'm going to skip to last weekend as I don't want to be posting about Thanksgiving one to two months after the fact. I hope that I'll get up to date soon! She was so excited to show me her painted nails as soon as she walked through the door and my sister said that she is a mini-me. Major compliment, haha. With just Emma and me cooking this year it was a lot less chao...

There were long hugs and excited shrieks, of course, and our weekend could really begin because now we were all together. We went to the 911 Memorial since it was so close to our hotel. It was a surreal experience and I kept on imagining what happened here 16 years ago. And although it was hard not to feel sad about all the lives lost I think they did an amazing job honoring those who lost their lives on that tragic day. Its a beautiful tribute and if youre ever able to see it I recommend you do so. After that we went shopping because thats usually one of the things we do when we get together. And it took me back (as it always does) to our Saturdays in college when we shopped for outfits for the night. It was so much fun and well, I didnt end up buying any clothes but I did end up purc...
