Sunday Dinner

Image
I said not too long ago, that I'd post Sunday dinners in this post . Well, I haven't done too well and it's mostly because I've forgotten. I've been (for the most part) making sure that Sean and I are sitting down together for Sunday dinner for the last couple of months. A few weeks ago, Sean had to work on Sunday so we pushed "Sunday" dinner to Friday night. The weather was unseasonably warm so Sean warmed up the grill and we had a delicious grilled meal on the deck with a lot of leftovers to enjoy for the week. Cooler weather is finally knocking on our doors and I'll admit that I'm going to miss our simple evenings of enjoying time out on our deck. But regardless of the weather and the fact that we'll actually have to eat in our dining area, our Sunday dinners have become one of the things I find myself looking forward to every week. I hope you all had wonderful weekends! ♥

Peruvian food for our Friday date night

A few weeks ago, I told Sean that I wanted to treat him to a date night, so he should let me know what restaurant he would like to go to and what hed like to do afterwards. Sean did some research online and then told me he wanted to check out a Peruvian restaurant in the neighboring town. Sean traveled to Peru a few years ago and loved their cuisine so you can say he was pretty excited to find a Peruvian restaurant so close to where we live. The best part was that the food was amazing and they also served Columbian cuisine. I am not exaggerating when I say, there was not a piece of food left on our plates. It was like a meal prepared for you at home, but better, and we cant wait to head to El Chasqui again. We went for an early dinner and it was a great time to go because we were the only patrons. The owner was so attentive and helped us decide what to order when we could not make up or minds. For a rather small restaurant, we were surprised with their extensive menu. I hop

Family time is (still) my favorite time ?

About one month ago, my sister, her husband and my nephew came to visit us for the weekend. I believe that ever since my mom passed away we have made it even more of a mission as a family to spend as much time together as possible. Celtic festival was that weekend (Sean wore his kilt and everything but I failed to bring my camera!) so we made sure to check it out especially since my favorite corn was going to be in attendance. My sister is just as obsessed as I am and when she learned that she could have some again she was too excited. But for some reason, this time it did not taste the same and I was a bit disappointed. Still ate it, ha. During the day on Saturday, Sean and Ben went to the shooting range and my sister requested that we go to the winery. My little sister, Maryanna, told her all about my favorite winery so my sister has been anticipating finally making her visit. We did a complimentary tasting that is usually 6 wines but my sisters charm allowed her to get a complim

Pillows, flowers & plants.

So, if you think you've already seen this post or even commented on it, it's because you have. It just dawn on me that I must have deleted this post by accident, which is the first I've ever deleted a published post in my almost 8 years of blogging. First time for everything. Three things I love to decorate my home with. It also helps that they are all relatively inexpensive so it is a guilty free pleasure. There is something so stress free to me about creating a bouquet. I honestly don't know if I'm doing it right but I know I love doing it. I love the process of entering Whole Foods and going through a bunch of flowers and imagining in my head how the flowers would look together. I know that it would be a much easier and quicker process to just buy the bouquet already created but I enjoy the process and it is one of the few ways that I feel that I can actually be creative and it work OK in my favor. And I've become a plant lover. I was that person who co
